accidentally sitting on scissors
+
sheer, utter joy to be in my favourite part of London
+
finding things I had forgotten about, like a journal I kept earlier this year which just became one long poem to a friend that I love and miss
+
fresh sheets, dried in the sun
+
Sunday brunch in the most amazing cafe, five minutes walk from the flat
+
boxes
+
trying to keep important things within easy reach, but I've probably already forgotten where they are, which is normally what happens when I decide to put things somewhere that "makes sense"
+
questioning the logic behind bringing almost empty perfume bottles with me
+
hands stained with newspaper
+
cleaning ovens
+
stocking a new pantry
+
planning furniture placement, etc with the Devoted Lover
+
the feeling of finally having "made it"
+
mail redirection
+
key cutting
+
books everywhere

happiness
"accidentally sitting on scissors"

Glad you're all moved in to your new home, I'll have to come visit now that you're out of the sticks!
So just out of interest...what is your favourite part of London?
ReplyDeleteHappy new home.

Scissors? Ouch.
ReplyDeleteFortunately they were the pair of scissors that are so blunt they couldn't cut butter! :P
ReplyDeleteThere's always something refreshing about a move. Finding the things you lost, the things you'd forgotten about and new things.
ReplyDeleteIt's clean and fresh and noice.
Nearly empty perfume bottles - cause they aren't empty yet and you love the smell!
we are hoping to move soon and your post stirred up such excitement in me at the process! yeah for fresh starts & new places.
ReplyDeletePhil I loved reading this! It sparked so many moving memories! x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way of making a fabulous experience of something that's usually perceived as a big PITA. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, we'll be moving soon as well- and there's something about the whole process that's just scary and thrilling at the same time!
ReplyDeleteI am glad it's been such a "happy" experience for you!
