In between all the crazy excitement of thinking "I might be running a marathon next year", and also trying not to get my hopes up (!), and trying to get my groove back (5 miles yesterday - whoo hoo!)......I've also been thinking about the date the marathon takes place - 25th April 2010.
25th April was the date in 2005 that I stepped on the scales in my bathroom in Hobart, and saw 103.5kg flash in front of my eyes. It was the day I decided to sort my life out, both in the health sense and the happiness sense, no matter what it took. It was the day I decided that things needed to change. It was the day my life started again.
A year later, on 25th April 2006, I reached my Weight Watchers goal weight of 76kg - a year to the day! I couldn't believe it!
Since then, April 25th has had a special place in my heart - every year I use it as an opportunity to reflect on where I am in life, what are my goals, and am I happy with what I'm doing and where I'm headed. Very fitting that it's ANZAC Day, really!
So, who knows what I might be doing on April 25th 2010?! Wouldn't it be amazing?!
What about you guys? Do you have a day of the year that is special to you, that you use as a day to take time out and think about life?
