Maybe there's something in the water....?
On Saturday night, Tom and I got engaged!
He proposed to me on the Milennium Bridge, which is right between St Paul's Cathedral and the Tate Modern, on the Thames. It was where we had our first kiss, on our first date, on a balmy September night two years ago.
On this occasion though, it was pouring with rain! He got down on one knee (in a puddle!) and I couldn't tell where rain stopped and tears began. Everything about it was sweet and funny and romantic and completely us.
I think I will always love the rain now!
We took the bus home, then had a celebratory prosecco in our favourite local pub (who were just about to close, but when we told them we'd just got engaged they let us in!). We were up till about 2am talking to friends and family in Australia, who were all delighted!
It's been a wonderful, happy and surreal 48 hours. I can't stop staring at my beautiful ring! And we keep calling each other "fiance"!!
We are just so happy! I wanted to share it with you :)
