(the name is very fitting, considering how long it took me to write this little post this evening!) :P
Best consumed while talking to lovely Kiwi folk, patting a lovely, spirited kitten in front of the fire and eating fig salad, roast potatoes and chocolate tart. After a few of these it is easy to get the words "geography" and "geology" mixed up, as my husband found out :P
Having all but emptied our local Oddbins on Saturday afternoon after discovering our wine rack was empty but for a bottle of Cava my father bought while he was here in August, we will be venturing back again to buy every one of these precious bottles we can lay our hands on!
It is definitely pinot weather here. Autumn leaves, rain, grey skies, seeing one's breath when walking.
What's your favourite drink at the moment? It doesn't have to be wine :)
The Mt D winery is just down the road from my parent's place. And yes the Mt D pinot is great.

Either the Cabernet Merlot or the Shiraz from Miles from Nowhere in the Maragaret River region.

I'm terribly boring when it comes to drinking. I don't deviate much from water or juice or the occasional sprite or 7up.
ReplyDeleteJai
By the way, the blog's looking gorgeous. Miss you. x
ReplyDeleteTeach me the art of writing a pithy, short blog post. I beseech you!!!!!! xxxx
ReplyDeleteWell I like wine, but for reading a good book, or writing my W.I.P., I love a good cup of Earl Grey tea. Nothing beats it, especially on a rainy day!
ReplyDeleteMaddie, your lucky Mum and Dad!! I am curious to try Mt Difficulty's whites as well!
ReplyDeleteJoc, I love anything from the Margaret River, tah for the recommendations!
Jai, nothing wrong with a good old Sprite! It's what I crave in hot weather when I'm very thirsty. Ice cold sprite feels like needles in the throat....in a nice way!
MZ, I miss you too xxxx
Elizabeth, I have been known to sip shiraz while writing my WIP (!) but I adore a good cup of Earl Grey too!
Some people have hot chocolate, I have Kahlua with milk for my Nighty night. But when in company, its Shiraz or Rioja.
ReplyDeleteYummy, I have been drinking their chardonnay and it too is lovely.
ReplyDeleteWell, we are heading south for the winter, so i'm gravitating towards more summery drinks right now.
ReplyDeleteThings with umbrellas in, garnished with pineapple or a salted rim :)
Glad you are enjoying the Mount Difficulty.
Cheers!
