When I was asked if I'd like to try out the new range of Remington Keratin Therapy Pro hair styling tools I wasn't sure whether to say yes because, much as I love getting glammed up, I have a confession to make...I pretty much suck at doing my own hair! I initially thought that people would rather read about hair styling by someone who actually knows how to wield curling tongs with confidence, but then I thought "if someone as clueless and low maintenance as me can use them, that's a great advertisement!" So, here we are :)
I was sent the full line up in Remington's new Keratin Therapy Pro range - the Pro Dryer, the Pro Volume Hot Brush, the Pro Curl and the Pro Straightener. The tools all contain Advanced Ceramic coatings infused with Keratin Micro Conditioners which are transferred to hair during styling to protect it from overheating. The curling iron and straighteners also have a heat protection sensor in them to detect moisture levels in the hair and regulate the temperature to avoid damage.
I tried all the four styling tools in the one hair do, as you're about to see, and here's what I thought of them:
Keratin Therapy Pro Dryer
A wonderful hair dryer, it gave such a smooth and silky result. Having such fine hair I find it hard to blow dry it myself and get my hair smooth like they do in a salon, but I was amazed at what a good job this one did. You can alternate between the different concentrators depending on how smooth you want the finish - I like the 11m one, which dries your hair faster.
Keratin Therapy Pro Volume Hot Brush
Ideal for creating soft waves, or to give your hair more bounce and volume at the roots. I did this prior to using the Pro Curl, which I think primed the hair well. I would have been quite happy to leave my hair at this point, it was smooth and bouncy!
Keratin Therapy Pro Curl
I have to admit I have a bit of a phobia of curling tongs. I have burned my hands and fingers on them more times than I'll ever admit in public and so whenever I want curly hair I just get someone else to do it! But after a shaky start, I managed to do the look you see in the video! I was so proud! And my hair didn't feel like it was under a grill, like my old curling tongs did. Everything felt bouncy and shiny.
Keratin Therapy Pro Straightener
The best straighteners I have ever owned, hands down. I only did the fringe, granted, but it took all of 15 seconds for them to heat up and be ready to use, and that part of the hair was instantly smooth and didn't feel dry or brittle at all.
So, here's my little whiz-bang demonstration of the four tools:
I'll certainly be putting a bit more effort in to my hair styling, especially when it involves being seen by other humans (which will be happening a bit more often than it has!). And with Christmas party season just around the corner, there's never been a better time to get more confident with that curling iron :)
Thank you Remington for letting me try the Keratin Therapy Pro range. You can find the range at Boots, John Lewis, Argos and many other places. And thank you to my camera man and ever patient husband Tom, who also composed the dance music you can hear in the video!
What are your tips for creating a salon look at home?

Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ivy :)
DeleteWow, you are talented at hair too, - fabulous look! I bought some Remington cheap straightners a few months ago and find them good, (better than any other I've used for less $), they can get my hair relatively straight, healthy and blunt looking, - I suck at attempting the curls but!
DeletePip :-)
Oh Pip, there was footage from the curls that didn't make the final cut - I wore gloves to start with because I was so scared of burning myself! I still have a scar on my left hand from a curling wand I used last year! This experience went a long way to making me feel confident using curling tongs again!
DeleteThank you for your compliments - it's amazing what putting in a bit of effort can do and I'm definitely going to try and do it more often :)
You look fab! I wish I could do more with my hair but its just at that weird length where it won't do much!
ReplyDeleteThank you hon! I'm starting to think I might be able to pull off a similar look to what they did at the Healthy shoot :)
DeleteYou did a GREAT job! Looking oh so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Now to see if I can improve my time ;)
DeleteWow you look amazing!
ReplyDeleteI am awful at doing my own hair- it is so thick that it takes ages to dry- sometimes I dry it and then straighten it properly, but normally I just have a pony tail for work- plus like you say when you spend a lot of time exercising and stuff it seems a waste to make it all nice, only to get it all sweaty again.
I think I'm getting better at it - my hair is very fine and I have a lot of it so I've always found trying to do anything remotely glam with my hair a very stressful exercise!! It takes a bit of effort but when I'm so used to just pulling it back in a bun to go running it makes a lovely change :)
DeleteYou look fab! I quite like doing my hair, but it takes so much time and is so much effort! I think both my hair dryer and straighteners need an upgrade, which might make things easier/quicker!
ReplyDeleteHaving good tools really makes a difference - my hair was so smooth after using these!
DeleteWow, what an awesome swag of free goodies!
ReplyDeleteThe curls look amazing :)
I loved the curls. Totally worth the effort :)
DeleteAmazing - whenever I try to curl my hair I end up with 3 degree burns and a halo of fuzz. Dare I believe I can achieve what u have?!
ReplyDeleteOf course you can! Third degree burns and a halo of fuzz was what I was used to too! When I first started using the tongs in the video I had gloves on, I'm SO scared of burning myself! Seriously I am the most clueless person when it comes to doing hair, so if I can pull it off I think anyone can...having good tools helps of course :)
DeleteLooks like your pretty good at it to me, you look gorgeous!! X
